Challenge
Koco & Koir, the parent company of ‘Valar’, owing to its substantial production capacity, focused on large-volume orders while deliberately deprioritizing smaller, quicker transactions. India, as the largest global supplier of coir substrates, was dominated by established players with large-scale operations and a strong international market presence. Meanwhile, their global customers, operating massive, technologically advanced farms, specializing in soilless cultivation techniques, presented a technical credibility challenge for a new entrant.

Insights.
Sessions with the founders identified key global regions where Koco & Koir could achieve a breakthrough by highlighting its technological expertise and capacity for high-volume, high-quality coir substrates. As one of their first major global initiatives, a sub-brand was proposed to give the parent brand flexibility for future operations, with a new name and identity that would be more memorable, and appealing to an international audience.

Solution
The new sub-brand, Valar, was developed from the ground up, with an identity designed to clearly convey the business and a minimal, clean aesthetic for a global audience. A communication strategy highlighting research-driven knowledge sharing, detailed product information, transparent processes, customization capabilities, and expertise in coir and agriculture was implemented. With multilingual communication, this strategy was executed across the website and a targeted digital marketing approach, integrating high-intent Google audiences with niche LinkedIn segments to build awareness and engagement.
